Michael Chemello is a Certified Athletic Therapist (CATA) and Certified Athletic Trainer (BOC-USA). He maintains both equivalent professional certifications. He graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. He was an Academic All-American athlete, and a Florida-Canada Linkage Award recipient.
Prior to transitioning to professional practice as a certified athletic therapist, Michael was an elite athlete (ice hockey). Having pushed his body to the limits for years, he had to overcome several injuries and the stresses of training. Now he combines his education and experience to create individualized programs for each client. He has worked with athletes and non-athletes, helping them to optimize performance and return to things they love doing pain free. Michael uses a variety of techniques to relax the nervous system, decrease pain/inflammation, improve posture, strength and range of motion.
Athletic Therapy is a health care profession that specializes in the prevention, assessment and care of musculoskeletal disorders (muscles, bones, joints) especially as they relate to athletics and the pursuit of physical activity. Michael currently serves on the Ontario Athletic Therapists Association’s (OATA) board of directors.
